Scholarships and Awards

 

Grade 12: Monsanto Scholarships:  Does your family own a farm?  Are you are planning to enter the College of Agriculture?  If the answers are yes, Monsanto is offering several $1500 scholarships that you could win.  To qualify, you must have demonstrated good academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.  Go to www.monsanto.ca or come to Student Services for an application.  Deadline: May 24, 2013

Affinity Credit Union Scholarships:  $500 scholarships available for Grade 12 students who are accepted to a post-secondary institution and are a member, or the dependant of a member, of Affinity Credit Union for a minimum of one year prior to May 21, 2013.  Deadline:  May 21, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.
 
Elwood Harvey Scholarship:  up to $2 500 available for Grade 11 students planning on graduating June 2014 and entering a post-secondary institution.  The applicant should be able to demonstrate how Co-operative principles have influenced them.  Deadline:  May 17, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.

 
COMMUNITY FIRST WORKING FOR WOMEN Scholarship:  $1000 scholarship to be awarded in 2013 to a woman who wishes to make herself more employable through education. The scholarship Is open to women 18 years and over, from Saskatoon and area.  Deadline is May 31, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.

Grade 12 students planning on attending University of Saskatchewan: 
·         The College of Arts & Science, including the Arts & Science Transition Program, has elected to extend its application deadline for domestic students to July 1, 2013. Students who haven't yet applied for admission but who want to begin taking classes this fall should apply online at explore.usask.ca.
·         U-Start registration workshops are taking place this month throughout Western Canada. Information about the workshops can be found online at students.usask.ca/ustart
·         University of Saskatchewan First-Year Learning Communities sign up is now open.  Please see Student Services for more information.
 
Saskatchewan Pulse Growers Scholarship:  $5,000; To be eligible for a scholarship, students must complete Grade 12 this year
and go on to attend a Saskatchewan‐based post‐secondary program full‐time this fall, in a program associated with the agriculture industry.  Deadline for applications is May 31, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.

 
National Union Scholarships:  if your parent/guardian is a member of a National Union of Public and General Employees (in Saskatchewan this would typically be SGEU) and you plan to enter the first year of a Canadian public post-secondary education institution full-time in 2013-2014, you may be eligible for a number of scholarships.  Application Deadline:  June 30, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.
 
 CMA High School Scholarship:  $1 000 available to one graduating high school student who is entering the accounting program at the University of Regina or the University of Saskatchewan.  Application Deadline:  July 31, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.

Les Donnelly Scholarship:  awarded annually up to a maximum of $2 000.  It is funded by the Saskatchewan Safety council's Trust Fund.  The recipient must be a Saskatchewan resident who is enrolled in a college or university level program.  Applicants must submit their responses to the eligibility questions along with their application to be considered.  Deadline for applications is May 31st, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.
 
Jack Moore Memorial Scholarships and Burgess Bursaries:  these scholarships and bursaries are available to the sons/daughters, grandsons/granddaughters and great grandsons/great granddaughters of Veterans, Ex-Service or still serving Military or R.C.M.P. personnel.  Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic standing and bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic standing and financial need.  Deadline for applications is August 28th, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.
 
Bill Epp Memorial Art Scholarship:  this scholarship is for post-secondary study in art.  The applicant will:  be exiting high school in the year of application, submit a statement of marks, and submit a portfolio of pieces that they consider their best work.  Deadline for applications is Friday, May 24th, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.

Year of the Metis Legacy Bursary:  The value of the bursary is $1000.00.  For a Grade 12 graduating student that has attained the requirements and is planning on enrolling in a  post secondary program of their choice.  The successful candidate must provide proof of acceptance to a post secondary training program. Applicants should include a complete resume, with a description of their involvement in the Métis community.  Application deadline is May 1, 2013.  Please see Student Services for more information.`

·         Collision Plus Trade Scholarship:  $500 for a Grade 12 graduate who meets the requirements for the Auto Body Technician Program and is committed to a career within this industry.  Application deadline is May 15, 2013.  See Student Services for more information. (4/19)

·         Masonic Youth Scholarships:  Open to students entering ANY post-secondary program in Canada.  Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership skills, community and school involvement and special awards. 5 awards of $1,000 each.  Full details in student services.  Deadline: August 9th. (04/23)

·         Murray Montague Memorial Scholarship:  Same qualifications as the Masonic Youth Scholarship. Value:  $1,000.  See student services. Deadline: August 9th. (04/23)  

Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority First Nations Scholarship Awards:  Two $5 000 scholarships will be awarded to students doing post-secondary study in Information Technology, Commerce or Hospitality and Tourism Management. Two $2 500 scholarships will be awarded to students doing post-secondary study in Communications or Electronics.  In addition, ten $1 000 scholarships will be awarded to eligible students in any other field.  You apply on-line; applications will be accepted from June 1 - October 1, 2013.  See Student Services for more information.
