Hello All,

 

In an effort to annouce to all blog users any difficulties reagrding the system we have developed a web page that will give you up-to-date information regarding the system. Please use this page to Log In to your blog from now on.

We will continue to post tutorials in this blog help desk.

At the moment the log in page is very basic but I will be adding more and changing it in the next few days.

Marina Duff is no longer your blog support at the Cyber School. Sandra Climenhaga is taking over this role. She is learning the new system, as am I, and you. If you ever have questions please free to contact her via email cyber@gscs.sk.ca  or 7700.

We've just been informed that the blogs can now be viewed by the public.

We are working through any bugs we find but all is running smoothely (even the email notifications)!!!

1. To post a new entry, log into the blog system: http://www.scs.sk.ca/cyber/blog/main.htm
2. Click on New Entry
3. Fill in the  Title, Category (if applicable) and body
4. Makes the appropriate changes to your entry.
5. Click Save (at the bottom)

Hello All,

The new blog system is up an running. There are many new features including email notifications (is working for everyone) and file management (called ASSETS). The look of the system is very different therefore I have created new tutorials for the main areas you will be using with this system.
I apologize for the inconvenience the upgrade has caused but we are confident that the new system will run faster and won't crash!!!!!!

Btw!!! The Rebuild function is now called PUBLISH

If you have any trouble please let us know at Cyber School 7700 or email cyber@scs.sk.ca as there may be some bugs in your blog caused by the upgrade.

One more note: As the blogs are on a new server SASKTEL needs to do some updating therefore the outside world may not be able to view the blog web sites for another day or two.

For those of you who receive this email.. you might wonder why, since the email notification system is not working properly. The blog still sends emails to people inside our school divisionl. The issue has been with the mail server and not the blogs.

I am happy to let you know that early next week we will be upgrading the blog system to the new version and onto a different server. There have been many tests made to ensure you do not lose any work or subscriptions. We are confident that the mail notification will be working properly on the new server.

I will make new tutorials and post them on the helpdesk as the new interface is fairly different.

All of the options are the same pretty much and you can also use the ASSET feature to see the files you have already uploaded.

Unfortunately the current blog system will be down for a couple of days while we do the update. Sorry for this inconvenience. I hope it will be the last break in service for a long time!
