SRC Elections

Nominations for Senior Ring, Senior Pin, grade 11 reps (one male and one female) and grade 10 reps (one male and one female) are open until Wed., May 9 at noon.  Nomination forms can be picked up and submitted at the main office.  Nominees for Senior Ring and Senior Pin must submit a letter of reference from a non-family adult with their nomination form.

Speeches will take place on Fri., May 11 during pd. 1 & 2; the vote will be conducted by SRC members during pd. 3.

 

Graduation 2012

Application forms for Mass, Entertainment, and Banquet duties are now available at the main office.  Graduates who are interested in assisting with the mass, performing between the mass and exercises or delivering a toast/response at the banquet are asked to stop by the main office to pick up an application.  All applications must be received back at the main office no later than 3:30 pm this Friday.

 

Graduation Banquet Orders

Reminder to grade 12 students that banquet ticket orders are now being accepted.  Tickets are limited to 8 tickets per graduate, this includes the graduate.  If you wish to sit next to a specific person(s) your orders must be submitted together.

 

Grade 12 Fashion Show

Tickets will be on sale at noon for seats, Mother's day flowers and DVD's across from the cafeteria.  There will be a limited number available.

 

Yearbook

There will be a yearbook meeting today and Thursday at noon in the yearbook rooms.  Members, please attend.

 

Youth Study Group

Youth Study Group will be held on Wednesday in room 334 from 3:15-5:30.  Tutorial support is offered to all students who wish to attend. Mr. Didjusto will lead this group.

 

Variety Night Performers

Mandatory Variety Night rehearsal today at 3:30pm.  All acts must be in attendance.  Students who need CD's are asked to get their music to Ms. Chomitzky by Monday morning.

 

Variety Night 2012

This year's Variety Night will take place on Wednesday and Thursday this week.  Our show promises to entertain audiences of all ages.  Tickets are $6 and will be available at noon in front of the box office.

 

The Bluff or Swamp Garbage Clean Up

The area is too wet for cleaning up so we will postpone until next week, Wed., May 16 from 12:15-12:45 during the lunch hour and/or from 3:15-4:15 after school. Environmental Club members will be handing out rubber gloves and garbage bags by the student parking lot for anyone wishing to help One C. E. hour is available for those who participate.  We will start with the forest edges and then move in.  Many hands make light work.

 

Multicultural Day

All staff/students who are bringing food for multicultural day please hand in your forms to Mrs. Remizowski in student services no later than today.  Thank you for sharing your recipes from your ethnic background!!

Track and Field

Last chance to sign up for mini meet #2 on Wednesday.  See Mr. Wist before 1pm or you will not be able to participate.

 

All relay teams for mini meet #2 can practice at the Filed House today from 8:15-9:15. This includes 4x400m, 4x100m relay teams, hurdlers, and sprints 

 

Mini meet #2 is this Wednesday at the Field House and there will be a bus leaving Holy Cross at 3:20pm if you wish! You are responsible for your own ride home. Good Luck. 

 

Another Opportunity to Donate

Those wonderful people who donated blood during our clinic in March have another opportunity to donate. There will be 2 "Life Buses" coming to Holy Cross after school on May 17th and May 24th to transport eligible donors to and from the CBS clinic downtown.  Please note: if you received a Mumps/Measles/Rubella vaccination in the past 3 months you are not eligible to donate yet.

 

Assignment Saving Lives Bursary Program

Gr.12--Do you know 20 people? Do you need money for post-secondary? You could receive a bursary from Canadian Blood Services if you can get 20 people to donate blood between June and the September long weekend. Most of us just need a reminder or nudge to "get around to donating". You can be that nudge and be entered to win a bursary!  For details, see Student Services.

Grade 12: Do you have questions about student loans?

Student loans workshop held on May 25.  There will be a workshop held at Holy Cross on Fri., May 25 at noon.  Students can sign up for an individual appointment and receive guidance with the application process for student loans.  Sign up is in Student Services.
