GeoGebra - Web Version or downloadable
GeoGebra is dynamic mathematics software for all levels of education that joins arithmetic, geometry, algebra and calculus. It offers multiple representations of objects in its graphics, algebra, and spreadsheet views that are all dynamically linked. While other interactive software (e.g. Cabri Geometry, Geometer's Sketchpad) focus on dynamic manipulations of geometrical objects, the idea behind GeoGebra is to connect geometric, algebraic, and numeric representations in an interactive way. You can do constructions with points, vectors, lines, conic sections as well as functions and change them dynamically afterwards. Furthermore, GeoGebra allows you to directly enter and manipulate equations and coordinates. Thus you can easily plot functions, work with sliders to investigate parameters, find symbolic derivatives, and use powerful commands like Root or Sequence.

Annenberg Media Grade 9-12
Videos can be a good teaching resource, but they need to be used as part of lesson rather than being the lesson. Annenberg Media provides lesson plans that model using video as a part of the lesson rather than using video as the lesson. Lesson plans are categorized by content and grade level. Most of the lesson plans include free online videos. To find lessons that include free online videos look for a small "VOD" symbol attached near the title of each lesson plan. Clicking the VOD symbol will launch a video player in a new windowAnnenberg Media

This java applet was designed to allow students to draw different polygons, and then determine the sum of the angles. First, click a few points on the blue canvas to draw a polygon. Finish drawing a polygon by closing it--click back on the first point you created. Then click and drag each of the angles over to the angle counter (the blue circle on the right). This angle counter will keep track of the sum of all the angles which have been placed on it.
Polygon Angle Applet
The purpose of this applet is to show that there is a relationship between the number of vertices and the sum of the angles for convex polygons. See if you can figure it out!

Teaching with Smartboard Math - Science 6-12
This weekly Video Podcast explores SMARTBoard teaching techniques to 6-12 Math Teachers. Our emphasis and purpose is to create lessons that are engaging for students. The lessons we will present will focus on getting students up to the smartboard and out of their desks. We will be covering template lessons that the viewer will be able to download off our website. Although we will be focusing on Math topics, most lessons can be applied to any subject.
