Saskatoon Trades and Skills Center - Merand

Meet with Meranda to talk about job options, resume building , post secondary schools and anything else career or school related.

Meranda at Oskayak High School every Wednesday between 9:30 and 3:30.
Sign up on my office door to schedule a meeting with Meranda.

Starting in October Employment Readiness and Job Opportunities after school support group will run for six weeks on Wednesdays. Take advantage of understanding what an employee might expect, best ways to search/apply for employment and become knowledgeable/confident when trying to enter the workforce.

Oskayak Girls Volleyball Bake Sale

Baked goods will be sold by the girls Wednesday, September 21st during the breaks and over the lunch hour. Support the team by purchasing squares, cupcakes and cookies. All proceeds going toward the purchase of new volleyball jerseys.

Healthy Mother Healthy Baby - Information Meeting September 23rd ,2011

Are you pregnant? Living with low income, in poor housing, feeling isolated, without enough food to eat , using tobacco , alcohol and or drugs, lonely and feeling unsafe- this support program maybe for you!

Healthy Mother, Healthy Baby supports pregnant women and provides home and school visits, nutritional counseling, milk and vitamin support, Food for Thought program and Prenatal classes in Saskatoon.

Friday September 23rd, 2011
Bring your lunch and your questions up to the library during the lunch hour.
Betty (Oskayak's school nurse from the Saskatoon Health Region) will be present to answer your questions and offer support.

Oskayak announces mentorship program

Oskayak school announces the "A friend in me" Mentorship program where students are matched up with mentors in areas of interest in the community.  Special thanks to the Affinity Credit Union for their generous sponsorship of this exciting program!

Saskatoon Trades and Skills Center Masonary Program

Just a reminder the October Masonary class will take place @ The Saskatoon Trades and Skills Center from If transportation is needed contact Bobbie Jo and she will make arrangements. Congratulations to the following students Harvey Mercredi, Gerald Morin, Wyonna Umperville, Tricia Buffalo, Trina Moccasina, Kyle Black, Rozina Ermine who were selected for the program After participating in 10 classes, students will have the necessary training and knowledge in Masonary (bricklaying). It is hoped students will be able to enter the work force after the school year and secure or summer or full time/ part time employment.

Get Ready for the Annual Oskayak Pow Wow

Come one come all to the Oskayak Fall Pow Wow to be held at Oskayak High School, 919 Broadway Avenue, Saskatoon.  Pipe ceremony at 8:15 a.m., Grand entry at 10:00 a.m. and Grand Exit at 2:30 p.m.  The Arena Director will be our very own Dellvin Kanewiyakiho.  Click on the poster below for more details and see you there!

Pow Wow Planning Meeting September 14 @ 12:15 p.m.

We will be having a Pow Wow planning meeting next Wednesday. Bring your lunch to Room 132. The Oskayak Pow Wow will be held on September 30th. All staff and students welcome!

- Be part of a exciting traditional event @ Oskayak.

Grade 12's we are responsible for the lunch and and serving of the elders. So your help is essential and valued!!
