Oskayak Volleyball Tournament.

Princess Shop - Graduation 2012/ Passport Pictures

Please fill out the necessary forms for the Princess Shop services for graduation. If you need a form please come and see me. Deadline for full service is March 22nd- $40 deposit - refunded when dress/ accessories are returned. We will schedule fittings for dresses and accessories after the deadline. Partial service is $20 - deadline (April 2nd) which is also refundable after graduation. Deposits are necessary so students are committed to the services provided. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Last call for passport pictures is Thursday, March 22nd , 2012 @ 10:00 a.m.

Students involved in the Guatemala trip planned for May

Remember only 4 days of school this week! Passport pictures will take place Tuesday and Thursday this week @ 10:00 am. If you are not at school during these times you will be responsible to arrange/ pay for your own pictures. Also, please continue to work on passport forms/ save to flash drive so it will be ready to print / be ready for guarantor. Hopefully some passports can be processed this week!

Want to look good for Graduation!

Deadline for Princess Shop full service support is March 22, 2012. You must complete the application form and submit a $40.00 deposit. The deposit will be refunded after the dress has been returned after graduation. Full service includes dress, hair, make-up and photography package. Fittings will be scheduled shortly after the deadline.
Only needing hair, make-up and photos - please submit form and $20.00 to me by April 2nd,2012. This deposit will also be refunded after graduation.

For you young men on track to graduate and want to make heads turn. I will be making arrangements at Moores for tuxedo rentals if you are interested. They require a $20.00 deposit for the tux rental when you have a fitting. More information to follow when I have contacted the business. Deposit is not refundable but will be put towards the cost of the rental. I am hoping to get two free tuxedo rentals from the business so a draw will take place at a later date.

Oskayak News For March 4th -March 9,2012

Monday,March 4th, 2012- Information Gathering/ School Forum - Parents, Community representatives, interested individuals, students and staff will come together in the gymnasium @ 7 p.m. to discuss where Oskayak is going in the future. It will allow participants the opportunity to give their input/ express their ideas on various topics in a safe,casual and positive setting. I hope everyone will make the effort to attend this event and make a difference at Oskayak.
Grade 12 students involved in the Guatemala trip- opportunity to get a criminal record check before applying for your passport. We will be going to the Police station @ 10:00 a.m. Tuesday and Friday this week. You must have one piece of picture ID and one piece of regular ID to be able to have the criminal check done.
Grade 12 students in need of a birth certificate - form and ID must be submitted by Wednesday , March 7th, 2012. Any questions please see Carys or Stan.
Driver's Education - please sign up in the office. To be allowed to take the course you must have a birth certificate or passport. If you are in need of a birth certificate please come and get the form at the office and submit it to Stan or Carys with the appropriate ID.
Oskayak Students and Staff Hot Breakfast - Thursday, March 8th, 2012 @ 8:45 a.m. Please come down to the cafeteria and participate in this community meal.
Students and staff from Sakawew High School will be at our school on Thursday, March 8,2012 @ 11:00 to share their ideas on student support groups and programming.

Nicole's project based learning superstars.

Jade and Laremy jumped into their problem based learning challenge with both feet!  Under the direction of Nicole, their teacher, this video is the result or their research into robotics.  They then selected a "beetle bot" project to put their knowledge into practice, applying simple logic circuits to create a "thinking" robot.  Last but certainly not least, they Used Final Cut Pro X and green screen to created this video to document the construction and testing of their project.  We are all very proud of these two. Well done Jade & Laremy!
