"This is a healing school.  It takes a long time to learn to open up as a young person.  We open to our children here like this (arms opened wide).  It's very important.

"I have a lot of respect for what this school is trying to do for its students.  A lot of patience is shown as they struggle with daily problems.  We also try to accommodate the cultural and spiritual needs of our students.  We open the doors to youth for things they might have missed out on in the city.  It's healthy that they learn to know the different Elders.  From there they can choose what is comfortable to them."
