One Act Play!
On Thursday, March 11th and Friday, March 12th at 7:30pm,
 St. Joseph High School is proud to present
an Evening of Drama featuring the play,
 110^th Street Station.
The play follows nine characters as they wait for the subway in an upper west side New York station. Through dramatic and comedic scenes, the passengers are forced to meet and find out about each others' lives. Tickets are $2 at the door. Rush seating. Doors will open at 7:10.
The St. Joseph Improv Comedy Team will be the opening act,
so don't miss out on this great evening!!

Senior Basketball!

A huge congratulations goes out to all the wrestlers who competed in the City Championships during the first week of March 2010!

When the smoke cleared, St. Joseph had a new city championship team as the girls captured the title!

The boys' team also produced a great result, finishing in 3^rd.

St. Joseph will be sending 13 wrestlers to the Provincial Championships in Regina this weekend!

GOOD LUCK to our Guardians!

On the girls' side, 3 gold medals were captured; the winners were Melanie Haanen, Kim Kotlar, and Tobi Wiegers. Bronze medals went to Rachel Thera, Candyce Prior, Kristen Byers, and Gillian Walker. Caitlin Taylor finished in 4^th and will represent our school in Regina.

The boys also had 3 gold medalists: Liam McMahon, Patrick McMahon, and Jon Ronn. Nathaniel Crohn captured the silver and Tanner Armstrong received bronze.

Congratulations to all our athletes and we wish you luck in your participation at Provincials!

MIRACLE ON 34th STREET!
Congratulations to the cast and crew for making this year's production such a success! Thank you to everyone who came out to get into the Christmas spirit with the classic story of Miracle on 34th Street!
The play is set in New York City at Christmastime and a nice old man named Kris Kringle is hired to play the seasonal Santa at the Macy's department store on 34th Street. It soon becomes clear, however, that he actually believes himself to be Santa Claus ... and most people who meet him also believe. When the skeptics catch wind of this, Kris suddenly finds himself in court defending his own sanity and identity!

Volleyball City Championships!

Congratulations to our Senior Boys team for bringing home the GOLD at Cities!

We are very proud of both our senior teams for competing in the City Championships at Bedford Road Collegiate on Friday, November 13th!

H1N1 Vaccination Clinic at St. Joseph High School
We held an H1N1 vaccination clinic for students and staff all day on Friday December 4^th. Letters, consent forms, and informational handouts were sent home on Friday November 27^th.

SENIOR SOCCER!!!

Our Senior Girls won the City Championships
against Marion Graham with a final score of 1-0

Our Senior Boys came in 2nd place at Cities
as they took on Centennial with a final score of 3-1.

JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL

Congratulations to our boys for winning the City Championships on Oct 29th!

They defeated BJM in the semi-finals and then took out Holy Cross in the finals!

Our Junior Girls team placed Third!

Congrats to both teams on a successful season!

These athletes included: junior girls Leia Fedyk for finishing 3^rd, Denise Humphreys for her 4th place finish, and Caitlin Grant for her courageous performance! These standings allowed this trio to run away with a junior girls' team performance of 3^rd place! The junior boys also finished 3^rd.   Brayden Cook led the way with a 5^th place finish, Pascal Stasner finished in 11^th place, and Shawn Sylvester's performance contributed to the success of these juniors! Representing the midget boys was Tarquin Stott who finished 4^th.

One of the most wonderful things at our school lately was the annual

BOX LUNCH AUCTION!

Hosted by Ratzlaff / Kelln and Muggeridge TGGs, along with our student social justice group, ACT, this event was a huge success!

Our amazing students and staff raised a grand total of $8782.22!

This money will go directly to benefit the students at our partner school, St. Mark Community School. Students who otherwise could not afford to join sport teams, attend summer camps, or participate in other character-building activities outside of school will now have the opportunity to do so!

St. Joseph HS, you should be so proud of this accomplishment!

For the city team titles, we finished a close second in both the boys and girls competition! For the second year in a row, our boy's team captured the trophy for the largest improvement on team point totals!

Congratulations to all our wrestlers who competed so hard all year for their school!

PROVINCIALS:

A big congratulations to the 16 wrestlers who represented St. Joseph so well at the Provincial Championships! The boys' team was led to a 3rd place finish by Donovan Dale who went undefeated and had no points scored on him to repeat a 2-time provincial champion. Patrick and Liam McMahon both put forth exceptional performances to capture silver medals. Ten of our eleven boys finished in the top 6 and scored team points!

On the girls' side, Gillian Walker finished 4th, Rachel Thera 5th, and Kim Kotlar 6th. Other boys finishing in the top 6 were Sang Carlson 4th, Colton Wiegers 4th, Troy Kirkpatrick 4th, Jon Ronn 5th, Sean Majeran 5th, Tanner Armstrong 6th, Shamus McKinney 6th. Great Job, Guardians!!!

SENIOR GIRLS ARE CITY CHAMPS!!!!!

Congratulations to the Senior Girls for beating the MG Falcons 74-73 in a tough battle on Saturday night at the PAC. The girls also qualify for Hoopla which will be held in Regina, March 19-21.

  Congratulations to the boys team on a hard fought season.  Unfortunately the boys fell short in their quest to attend Hoopla being defeated by Evan Hardy in Friday's quarter final. 

 CHRISTMAS HAMPERS!

The St. Joseph Guardians once again spread Christmas cheer with the distribution of Christmas Food Hampers to needy families affiliated with some of Saskatoon's community schools.  34 hampers were distributed to help over 150 adults and children enjoy a blessed and joyous Christmas!!!

Thank you to all the students, staff, and parents who so generously contributed to this project.  A special thank you goes to Mr. Quinn Magnuson and 1-800-GOT-JUNK for giving his time and his truck to help with many of the deliveries!

On October 19, 2008, St. Joe's took action and stood up against poverty!

We made history when the Guardians joined over 116.9 million people to Stand Up and Take Action (www.standagainstpoverty.org) on October 19 2008.  Together we will continue calling on our elected leaders to achieve and exceed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015 and put an end to poverty and  inequality. 

Around 50,000 people still die from poverty every day and the current food, fuel and financial crises mean the pressure on women and marginalized people already struggling to survive has increased dramatically. We must keep working together to ensure that the commitments made by our governments to improve the lives of the world's poorest are honoured. It is more urgent than ever that we continue to strengthen the global movement against poverty and continue to hold our leaders accountable for their promises.

Over 90 students, staff, and community members participated in the event!

We collected more than 4 POUNDS OF HAIR to be donated to make real-hair wigs for cancer patients! 

AND... we raised OVER $11,000 in total for cancer research!!!!!!! WOW!
