St. Frances, is a welcoming community where we nurture faith, encourage excellence in learning and inspire students to serve others, making the world a better place. We do this in many ways for both our English and Cree Bilingual Programs.
We celebrate the gospal values and parallelled tipi-teachings. Our "Brick by Brick" legacy wall identifies students who "Reach out and Transfor the World". Our wall and accompanied documentation permanently display the good works of our students.
As directed by the ministry of education, we have a learning improvement plan. As part of our plan we focus on reading, writing and mathematics. We test, monitor, re-teach and funnel time and resources ensuring all our students grow in these areas. Our data tracking walls aid us in this endeavour.
We offer Cree Bilingual programming from K - 4. This program provides the opportunities for students to learn Cree language, culture and faith while maintaining all benefits of our Catholic school programming. Busing is provided for all these students from anywhere within Saskatoon.

We use the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood learning. This approach encourages creativity and empowers the students to direct their own learning while teaching the Kindergarten curriculum in a faith based environment. The environment is important in this approach. Our classrooms, particularly our outdoor classroom, has been recognized by the province. This learner centered approach that creates environments that are molded to the students needs has filtered through every classroom.
Fitness is an important part of learning. We offer every K - 8 student 30 minutes of Phys. Ed. every day. We emphasize skill acquisition as listed by the provincial curriculum and over all fitness. Functional fitness is an important part of the entire day. Teachers use many body breaks that are regularly schedule or provided as needed.
We have partnered with the University of Saskatchewan to provide 3rd year nursing students, dentists and 1st year education students to increase opportunities of our students to learn and gain access to health care.
