Invited the Queen to visit...
I sent an invitation to our Queen to come visit the cyber school...she cannot make it this time...which is too bad, I did want to meet her. But she did read the material we sent her and she said it was interesting.
Remember it never hurts to ask.

Because it means I have clothes to wear.
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day.
Because it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the Alarm that goes off in the early morning hours.

The Internet Is Not Especially Dangerous For Kids
It's repeated so often that it has almost become a cliché: the Internet is a dangerous place for children. We're regularly treated to alarmist stories about the growing problem of child predators on the Internet. But David Pogue has a great post putting the danger in perspective -- fitting well with recent studies showing the danger is overstated. He says he was asked to write a story on the subject, and when he submitted a story arguing that the dangers were over-hyped, his editor pressured him to track down some examples of Internet-based violence. Pogue says that he "could not find a single example of a preteen getting abducted and murdered by an Internet predator."

March Continuous Improvement Framework
As stated at the opening staff meeting we are working on a continuous improvement framework (CIF) It will work in a few different steps: Each CIF will take one month to complete. Each month I will introduce a new unit in our CIP journey. There are ten tasks and at the end we will see if our stats via Cyber Tracker improve.

The goal: Display information on the front page or web links area in course content of your course that is updated automatically. Giving the students a glimpse at what is available on the internet.

SCCS Applications
These applications were designed to fill some of the holes left in the tracking of K-12 students in the Learning Management System. Most management systems are designed for post-secondary institutions and are designed to work with the university student registration and student reporting systems. The Saskatoon Catholic Cyber School(SCCS) does not have such tools or applications so it as found it necessary to develop it's own. This website will try to explain some of the applications that we designed in house.
